Team USA put together another dominant performance on Sunday afternoon at the 2025 World Para Ice Hockey Championship, overwhelming Slovakia 13-0 in their second Group B matchup at LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo.

Following a 12-0 shutout of Norway on Saturday, the Americans looked even sharper against Slovakia, outshooting their opponents 34-2 and scoring in all three periods en route to their second consecutive clean sheet.

Forward Kevin McKee opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game, finishing a feed from Declan Farmer. Moments later, Jack Wallace doubled the lead, and before the clock hit five minutes, USA had surged to a 4-0 lead with additional tallies from McKee and Farmer. Wallace later set up Farmer again, and the first period closed with the Americans up 5-0.

Slovakia had no answer for the speed, skill, and structure of the U.S. attack. American goaltender Griffin Lamarre had a quiet day in net, facing just two shots over the entire 45 minutes, both of which he turned aside for the shutout.

The second period saw continued U.S. dominance. Malik Jones scored off a setup from Joshua Misiewicz midway through the frame, and Farmer completed his hat trick minutes later with his third of the game, assisted by Noah Grove.

The third period turned into a showcase of offensive flair. Brody Roybal, Wallace, and Grove all added to the scoreboard, with Wallace completing his own hat trick. Kayden Beasley and Farmer added the final blows, bringing the U.S. total to 13 goals by the final horn.

Wallace finished the day with three goals and four assists, a seven-point performance that led all skaters. Farmer wasn’t far behind, scoring four times and assisting twice. McKee notched a pair of goals and an assist, while Pauls and Misiewicz each added two helpers.

Despite the overwhelming scoreline, the Americans played a disciplined game, taking only one minor penalty. Slovakia was equally composed in that department, though they struggled to maintain any meaningful puck possession or generate chances.

Slovak goalie Eduard Lepacek faced a barrage of 33 shots and made 20 saves, battling valiantly despite the onslaught. The Slovak skaters were limited to isolated rushes and were largely pinned in their own zone for the duration of the game.

Jones, who added his second goal of the tournament, said playing on home ice carries special significance. “It means a lot and to have a home crowd, people cheering for us – it gives us motivation on the ice,” he said postgame.

With this win, Team USA improves to 2-0 in Group B, having now outscored opponents 25-0 through two games. The victory puts them in strong position ahead of their final group stage matchup against Czechia.

“Our goal is to be in that gold medal game,” Jones added, underscoring the team’s focus and drive. And if their first two games are any indication, the Americans are clearly out to reclaim the world title and reassert themselves as the team to beat in Buffalo.
